Updated: 09/2026 — prices taken from Go365's live booking system.

Three days and two nights is the most common length for a Nha Trang trip: enough to swim, island-hop, eat seafood and get home without burning a week of leave. The hard part is fitting it together so no half-day goes to waste. This guide gives you a Nha Trang 3-day 2-night itinerary broken down session by session, a list of things to see in Nha Trang with real ticket prices, and advice on when a multi-day Nha Trang tour beats booking everything separately. All prices are adult rates currently on sale at Go365.

How much does 3 days and 2 nights in Nha Trang cost?

Cost comes down to two things: your hotel and how much time you spend on the water. Here is a reference range for one traveller, excluding flights to Cam Ranh.

ItemBudgetStandardComfortable
Hotel, 2 nights600,000₫1,400,000₫3,000,000₫+
Food, 3 days600,000₫1,000,000₫1,800,000₫
One island day trip550,000₫850,000₫1,370,000₫
Entrance tickets, mud bath100,000₫350,000₫950,000₫
Airport transfer, both ways250,000₫500,000₫500,000₫
Total~2.1 million~4.1 million~7.6 million

For comparison: an all-inclusive 3-day 2-night Nha Trang package currently sells at 3,300,000₫ per adult, covering hotel, transport, a guide and main meals. If you sit in the "standard" bracket or above, a package usually costs less than doing it yourself — more on that below.

Nha Trang 3-day 2-night itinerary in detail

Day 1 — Into town, afternoon at the beach, night market

Cam Ranh airport sits about 35 km from central Nha Trang, a 45-minute drive along the coastal road Nguyễn Tất Thành. Booking a Cam Ranh – Nha Trang airport transfer in advance at 250,000₫ per car beats hunting for a taxi outside arrivals, especially if you land after 10 pm. For a full comparison of all four ways into town, see getting from Cam Ranh airport to Nha Trang.

  • Afternoon: check in and swim at Trần Phú beach. The stretch in front of the Sheraton and the Bốn Mùa (Four Seasons) park area has calm water and marked swimming lanes.
  • 5:30 pm: Tháp Bà Ponagar (Ponagar Cham Towers) in late light — better photos, far less heat. Entry is 30,000₫, paid at the gate.
  • Evening: nem nướng Ninh Hòa (grilled pork skewers) or bún cá sứa (jellyfish fish noodle soup), then the night market on Trần Phú street.

Keep day one light. Never book an island tour for your arrival day — a two-hour flight delay wipes out the whole trip.

What to eat on your first night? The three dishes most tied to Nha Trang are nem nướng Ninh Hòa (served with rice paper, herbs and a peanut dipping sauce), bún cá sứa and bánh căn (mini rice pancakes). Nguyễn Thiện Thuật and Tô Hiến Thành streets are full of casual spots at 40,000–70,000₫ a portion. Save seafood for day two, after you come back from the islands — you will be hungry and the fishing boats will have just landed.

Day 2 — Island day, the part worth paying for

This is the day that decides whether your Nha Trang trip is memorable or forgettable. Speedboats leave the pier around 8:00 am and return between 3:30 and 4:00 pm.

One cost that is never in the tour price: the Nha Trang bay conservation fee and landing tickets for certain islands, both collected at the pier. Our guide to bay fees and island landing tickets lists the current rates so you are not caught short of cash at the dock.

  • Late afternoon: back on shore, go for a hot mineral mud bath. Tháp Bà mud bath starts at 100,000₫ per adult for the standard package, or I-Resort at 250,000₫ for larger, cleaner grounds.
  • Evening: seafood on Tháp Bà or Cù Lao street. For something different, try night squid fishing on the bay at 900,000₫, leaving at 6 pm and back by 9:30 pm.

Day 3 — Pick one thing, then head to the airport

The last day is usually half a morning. Don't be greedy. Choose one of three:

  • Families with kids: VinWonders Nha Trang — the after-6 pm ticket with return cable car is 620,000₫ per adult, the standard full-day ticket 950,000₫. Arrive by 8:30 am if you want to see all of it.
  • Quick visit, good photos: the Vinpearl Harbour cable car, 100,000₫ return — a sea-crossing cable car, about 12 minutes each way.
  • Culture: a Nha Trang city tour at 700,000₫ taking in Nhà thờ Núi (Stone Church), Chùa Long Sơn (Long Sơn Pagoda), the Oceanographic Institute and Hòn Chồng.

Leave for the airport two and a half hours before departure. The coastal road backs up around Bãi Dài on Sunday afternoons.

Multi-day Nha Trang tours: when are they worth it?

Going independent works if you are staying put in Nha Trang and want to sleep in. But the moment you add somewhere outside the city — Vĩnh Hy, Ninh Thuận, Đà Lạt — a multi-day Nha Trang tour is almost always cheaper and far less tiring, because transport and hotels are already bundled.

Nha Trang 4D3N4D3N4,500,000₫
Nha Trang – VinWonders – Hòn Tằm3D3N5,200,000₫

Most tours come in three room grades: standard, superior/deluxe and premium. On the same Discover Nha Trang 3D2N itinerary, the gap between 3,600,000₫ and 5,500,000₫ is purely hotel class — so choose by the standard of room you normally sleep in, not by the tour name. Children between 1.00 m and 1.39 m are priced separately: across the three 3D2N tours currently on sale, the child rate runs about 30% below the adult rate (2,500,000₫ against 3,600,000₫; 2,300,000₫ against 3,300,000₫; 1,930,000₫ against 2,750,000₫).

With five or six days, combined routes such as Nha Trang – Đà Lạt, Nha Trang – Mũi Né or Nha Trang – Phú Yên make far better use of your driving hours than going out and back to the same place.

A few things to know before you go

  • Best season: January to August brings calm seas and clear skies. October to December is the rainy stretch and speedboats are often cancelled in heavy swell — if you travel then, book the island tour for day two so day three stays free as a backup.
  • Book island tours and VinWonders tickets at least a day ahead. Weekends and public holidays sell out fast, and gate prices are higher.
  • International visitors: a Vietnam eSIM starts at 135,000₫ and activates the moment you land — no need to swap a physical SIM at the airport.
  • Islands closed to foreign visitors: a few coastal islands in Vietnam sit inside military zones and admit Vietnamese nationals only — Bình Ba and Bình Hưng in Khánh Hòa among them. If anyone in your group holds a foreign passport, confirm with the operator before booking an island trip, so nobody is turned away at the pier.
  • Carry 300,000–500,000₫ in cash for bay fees, island landing tickets and snacks on the boat. Many island vendors still don't take bank transfers.

Frequently asked questions

Is 3 days and 2 nights enough for Nha Trang? Enough for the beach, one island tour, a mud bath and one city sight. Adding Vĩnh Hy or Đà Lạt needs at least four days.

Package tour or independent travel? Independent is cheaper if you stay in budget hotels and do only one island tour. From 3-star level upward, a package usually costs less because rooms and transport are bought in bulk.

Does the island tour include the bay conservation fee? No. The bay fee and landing tickets for some islands are collected separately at the pier, in cash.

How are children priced? Children between 1.00 m and 1.39 m have their own rate on each tour, around 30% below the adult price. Children under 1.00 m are usually free and share their parents' bed.

The short version

A safe formula for three days and two nights in Nha Trang: keep day one easy, give day two entirely to the sea and the islands, pick exactly one thing on day three, then head for the airport. The only task worth doing early is booking your island tour and entrance tickets — those are the two things that sell out.
