If you are about to rent a speedboat (cano) to the Nha Trang islands, there is a new cost to know so you are not surprised at the pier: the Nha Trang Bay sightseeing fee. From 25/9/2025, Khánh Hòa Province officially collects this fee from visitors going to the bay's islands. Most important: the speedboat price (private or shared) usually does NOT include the bay fee or the entrance ticket of each island.

What the speedboat price includes — and does NOT include
This is where many travelers get confused. A typical speedboat (high-speed cano) trip:

- The high-speed speedboat transfer between islands

Who is exempt or gets a discount?
- 100% exempt: children under 6, people with severe disabilities, and permanent residents of Khánh Hòa.
- 50% discount: children 6–16, seniors aged 60+, students, poor households and certain policy beneficiaries.
You must present documents (ID, student card, certificate…) to claim an exemption or discount.
