Hà Giang Stone Plateau Discovery Tour 4 Days 3 Nights (Motorbike)

ITINERARY 4 DAYS 3 NIGHTS

DAY 1

06:30 breakfast (rice noodle soup, phở, steamed rice rolls…)

07:00 departure – stop and check in at the Hà Giang Km0 marker, then continue on.

Visit and check in at the Bắc Sum slope viewpoint – nicknamed the “Pha Đin” of Hà Giang, Bắc Sum is a must for every road tripper. Winding, rugged and full of tight hairpin bends, the slope coils like a snake. Perhaps only in Hà Giang can a single slope, a single stretch of mountain road, hold so much unique beauty.

The group then moves on to the Quản Bạ Heaven's Gate stop, where every visitor can admire the Fairy Twin Mountains – a work of art nature gave this land – and capture the whole of Tam Sơn town in one frame.

Next we stop and check in at the Lonely Tree – a solitary burretiodendron tree that has long become a famous photo stop for travellers exploring the Happiness Road.

12:00 lunch stop in Yên Minh town.

Afterwards you ride over Thẩm Mã slope – the link between Yên Minh town and the Đồng Văn stone plateau, winding between two towering rock mountains.

Your final stop of day one is Lũng Cú – the northernmost point of the country, described as the place where “you bow your face to the ground and lift it to the sky”.

18:00 check in at a homestay in Lô Lô Chải village, rest, explore the village by night and enjoy black chicken hotpot – a speciality of the local highland communities…

DAY 2

06:30 wake up, check out and have breakfast.

Visit and take photos at the Lũng Cú flag tower; from there you can look out over beautiful terraced fields dotted with the rammed-earth houses of the Lô Lô people in Séo Lủng hamlet below.

The group heads to the Youth Volunteers Memorial – honouring the people who built the Happiness Road. This sweetly named road was opened to boost trade for residents of Đồng Văn and Mèo Vạc districts and help reduce poverty.

12:00 lunch at a pre-booked restaurant.

Cruise on the Nho Quế River, explore the picture-perfect Tu Sản canyon and take in a panorama that looks like an ink-wash painting found nowhere else in Vietnam.

Next the group sets off for Pả Vi cultural village – a H'Mông community tourism village. Pả Vi Hạ hamlet is likened to a bright flower at the foot of the majestic Mã Pì Lèng Pass, nestled beside the winding, poetic emerald Nho Quế River in this frontier land. It is a must-see for anyone setting foot in Hà Giang.

Check in at the homestay, rest, have dinner and join the evening activities there.

DAY 3

07:00 check out and have breakfast

Conquer the Mã Pì Lèng Pass, one of Vietnam's four most famous great passes, at 2,000m above sea level

Check in at the Panorama

Lunch in Đồng Văn town

Visit and explore the ancient village of Thiên Hương – a village more than 100 years old, with old rammed-earth houses roofed in yin-yang tiles, stacked-stone fences and long-standing ancient trees.

Return to Đồng Văn town and check in at the hotel.

Explore Đồng Văn old quarter

Dinner in the old quarter, explore it by night and join the fun activities on offer there

Return to the hotel to rest; end of day 3.

DAY 4

06:30 wake up, check out and have breakfast.

Visit the H'Mông King's Palace (the Vương family mansion)

The next stop is Sủng Là valley and Lũng Cẩm cultural village – the setting for the famous films “The Story of Pao” and “Quietly Below the Abyss”. In winter and spring, fields of buckwheat and cherry blossom burst into bloom, perfect for romantic footage rich in highland culture.

12:00 lunch at a restaurant

Explore and check in at the Yên Minh pine forest – a peaceful, poetic setting where rows of straight green pines soar into the sky as if piercing the clouds.

After the meal the group heads back to our operations office in Hà Giang City.

17:00 the group arrives at our operations office in Hà Giang City, ending a 4-day 3-night trip full of rewarding experiences and good times. Here you wait for the pre-booked ride home.
