The journey travels along the the Mekong Delta and then crosses the Hà Tiên border gate into Cambodia by road – a combined route operated by few tours due to the complex procedures and logistics required.
The Vietnam section passes through Bến Tre, Cần Thơ with the Cái Răng floating market, and rừng tràm Trà Sư – the most beautiful flooded forest in the western region. The Cambodia section goes to the coastal areas of Kep and Kampot, Phnom Penh, then travels up the Mekong River to Kampong Cham and Kampong Thom before arriving in Siem Reap.
The entire route is by road and river, with no flights – the only way to witness the gradual transition of landscapes and cultures on both sides of the border.

WESTERN VIETNAM – CAMBODIA TOUR ITINERARY 13 DAYS 12 NIGHTS
DAY 1: ARRIVE IN HO CHI MINH CITY
- Pickup at Tân Sơn Nhất airport, check into the hotel.
DAY 2: HO CHI MINH CITY
- Visit the Independence Palace, War Remnants Museum, and Bến Thành market.
- In the afternoon, stroll around the Chợ Lớn area.
DAY 3: HO CHI MINH CITY – BẾN TRE – CẦN THƠ
- Go to Bến Tre, take a three-plank sampan through the nipa palm canals, and visit a coconut candy workshop.
- In the afternoon, continue to Cần Thơ, check into a riverside hotel on the Hậu River.
DAY 4: CÁI RĂNG FLOATING MARKET – TRÀ SƯ – HÀ TIÊN
- Wake up early to visit the Cái Răng floating market.
- Visit the Trà Sư melaleuca forest, paddle a sampan through the flooded forest.
- In the afternoon, arrive in Hà Tiên and stay overnight.
DAY 5: HÀ TIÊN – CROSS THE BORDER – KEP
- Complete procedures at the Hà Tiên border gate to enter Cambodia.
- Drive to Kep, check into a seaside hotel.
DAY 6: KEP – KAMPOT
- Visit the Kep crab market and enjoy a meal of crab stir-fried with green pepper.
- In the afternoon, visit a Kampot pepper farm and Phnom Chhngok cave.
DAY 7: KEP – PHNOM PENH
- Drive to Phnom Penh, check into the hotel.
- In the afternoon, stroll along the Sisowath Quay and visit the Russian Market.
DAY 8: PHNOM PENH
- Visit the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda, and National Museum.
- In the afternoon, visit Tuol Sleng and Choeung Ek.
DAY 9: PHNOM PENH – KAMPONG CHAM
- Drive to Kampong Cham along the Mekong River.
- In the afternoon, visit Nokor Bachey pagoda and the bamboo bridge across the river.
DAY 10: KAMPONG CHAM – KAMPONG THOM – SIEM REAP
- Visit Sambor Prei Kuk – a UNESCO heritage site, pre-Angkorian Khmer temples.
- In the afternoon, continue to Siem Reap, check into the hotel.
DAY 11: SIEM REAP – ANGKOR
- Enter Angkor Wat at sunrise.
- In the afternoon, visit Angkor Thom, Bayon, and Ta Prohm.
- In the evening, watch an Apsara dance performance.
DAY 12: SIEM REAP – BANTEAY SREI AND BIỂN HỒ
- Visit the pink sandstone Banteay Srei.
- In the afternoon, take a boat to the floating village on Biển Hồ Tonle Sap.
DAY 13: SIEM REAP – AIRPORT TRANSFER
- Have breakfast and check out.
- Transfer to Siem Reap airport.
