Just a four-hour drive from Hà Nội, Mai Châu and Pù Luông are the two most beautiful terraced rice field valleys in the North, yet to be commercialized like Sa Pa.
Guests stay in traditional stilt houses of the Thái trắng people in Lác village, cycle through the rice paddies, and then head to the Pù Luông nature reserve – where terraced fields cascade down the limestone mountain slopes and wooden waterwheels keep turning day and night.
The most beautiful seasons are May–June (the flooding season) and September–October (when the rice turns golden yellow). Go365 arranges private vehicles, local guides, and thoroughly inspected accommodations.

MAI CHÂU – PÙ LUÔNG TOUR ITINERARY 3 DAYS 2 NIGHTS
DAY 1: HÀ NỘI – BA KHAN – MAI CHÂU
- Pickup at hotel in Hà Nội, depart for Hoà Bình.
- Stop at Ba Khan to admire the hydroelectric lake amidst limestone mountains, have lunch.
- Cross Thung Khe pass down to Mai Châu valley.
- Check in to a stilt house in Lác village, afternoon cycling around the villages. Overnight in Mai Châu.
DAY 2: MAI CHÂU – PÙ LUÔNG
- Breakfast, depart for Pù Luông.
- Trek through Kho Mường village, visit Kho Mường cave.
- Have lunch at the village, in the afternoon admire the terraced fields and waterwheels.
- Check in to a resort overlooking the valley, have dinner and stay overnight.
DAY 3: PÙ LUÔNG – HÀ NỘI
- Breakfast, take a light walk around the resort to catch the early sun on the terraced fields.
- Check out, have lunch on the way.
- Transfer back to Hà Nội, end of tour.
