Đường Lâm ancient village (full-day trip)

Duong Lam Ancient Village has a history of about 1,200 years with many houses dating back up to 400 years. One special thing about the village is that most of the buildings here are made of laterite and mud, two materials that are abundant in the area. Laterite is used on house walls, gates, wells, temple walls, and so forth. The mud is taken from ponds. Apart from its historical and tourism values, Duong Lam Ancient Village is an important place for scientists to study resident communities in ancient agriculture.

DUONG LAM ANCIENT VILLAGE (Full day trip)

Pick up at the hotel in Hanoi and travel west to visit Duong Lam village (60km from Hanoi), a purely agricultural village of the Northern Red River delta where still preserve many hundred-year-old houses. It will be your unique experience as you walk along tiny ancient alleys. Then visit Mong Phu communal house and some ancient houses in Mong Phu hamlet - the only hamlet, whose original village entrance gate remains intact, dedicated to national heroes. Walk around the village to visit some cultural and historical vestiges in Duong Lam such as: Giang Van Minh worship-house, Mia Pagoda.

After resting, continue driving to visit Van Phuc silk village to see the experience and process of making silk and conical hats. The silk of Van Phuc village is famous for making traditional textiles throughout Vietnam and overseas.
