Bassac is a wooden cruise ship built in the style of traditional cargo boats of Nam Bộ, featuring just over a dozen cabins, cruising up the Mekong River through narrow tributaries inaccessible to larger vessels.
Two days on the boat take you through Cái Bè, the Măng Thít canal, and Trà Ôn – the heart of the riverine West, where houses face the river and markets are held on boats before dawn.
The following morning, you will board a small sampan to visit the Cái Răng floating market at dawn, the time when the market is most bustling and beautiful.

2-DAY 1-NIGHT BASSAC CRUISE TOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1: TP.HCM – CÁI BÈ – MĂNG THÍT – TRÀ ÔN
- Pick-up at hotel in TP.HCM, depart for Cái Bè (approximately 2 hours).
- Board the Bassac cruise, enjoy lunch as the boat departs the pier.
- Visit the traditional craft village in Cái Bè to watch coconut candy and rice paper making; take a small sampan through the canals.
- The boat cruises along the Măng Thít canal at sunset, anchoring for the night near Trà Ôn. Enjoy dinner on deck.
DAY 2: TRÀ ÔN – CÁI RĂNG FLOATING MARKET – CẦN THƠ – TP.HCM
- Wake up early, transfer to a small sampan to Cái Răng floating market to catch the sunrise.
- Have breakfast on board, visit a traditional hu tieu noodle workshop.
- Disembark at Cần Thơ, the vehicle will take you back to TP.HCM.
