Laos was once known as the "Land of a Million Elephants". Today, the wild elephant population has dwindled to just a few hundred, and the sanctuaries around Luang Prabang are among the rare places where you can be near elephants without riding them.
This 2-day program puts you in the role of a real mahout: learning voice commands, feeding the elephants, and accompanying the herd to the stream for a morning bath. Spend the night in luxury tents set up right inside the sanctuary, listening to the sounds of the forest instead of the city.
This is an experience with no elephant riding and no elephant shows – fully aligned with the responsible tourism standards that Go365 pursues.

2-DAY 1-NIGHT LAOS ELEPHANT MAHOUT EXPERIENCE TOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1: LUANG PRABANG – ELEPHANT SANCTUARY
- Pick-up from your hotel in Luang Prabang, transfer to the elephant sanctuary.
- Enjoy lunch, meet the mahouts, and get acquainted with the elephants.
- Learn basic commands, feed the elephants by hand, and walk with them through the forest.
- Settle into your tent, enjoy dinner, and spend the night in the heart of nature.
DAY 2: MORNING ELEPHANT BATHING – RETURN TO LUANG PRABANG
- Wake up early to catch the sunrise over the river, and have breakfast at the camp.
- Follow the elephants to the stream, observe, and help the mahouts bathe them.
- Pack up your tent, and the vehicle will take you back to Luang Prabang.
