When looking for tours, you may come across the term "DMC". So what is a DMC, and why do more and more travellers choose to book through a reputable one? Let Go365 explain.
What is a DMC?
A DMC (Destination Management Company) is a company that manages a destination — an operator with deep local knowledge that directly organises and coordinates on-the-ground services: tours, transport, accommodation, guides and events. Unlike an agency that simply resells, a DMC handles services at the source, right in the destination.
What does a DMC do?
A DMC takes care of the entire "ground" side of a trip: designing itineraries, arranging vehicles and local guides, handling issues on the spot, and acting as the bridge between travellers (or the agency sending them) and local suppliers. Because they are based right in the destination, a DMC reacts quickly when things change.
Why choose a DMC?
Local expertise: itineraries grounded in reality, with genuinely local experiences.
Fast problem-solving: a team on the ground when weather, traffic or services change.
Reasonable prices: working directly with suppliers cuts out middle-man costs.
How is a DMC different from a regular travel agency?
A regular agency focuses on selling and gathering customers, while a DMC is responsible for operating the services at the destination. Some companies, such as Go365, combine both: selling across many channels while directly operating at key destinations in Vietnam.
